Guest Post: Emily from Nailsxo

Hi everyone,
So today I have a guest post from Emily from Nailsxo. Emily is one of my favourite bloggers, she comes up with great designs and I love her photos. She's also a great blogging friend too!
Anyway over to Emily:

Hi everyone! Emily here from Nailsxo. I'm so happy to be here doing this guest post for Jayna, I really love looking at her nails and reading her posts (big fan) :)! So lets get to it!

If you have been reading my blog, then you'll know that I've been making a lot of nail art based around Spring - I love it! It means creating colourful designs and using bright colours, my favourite! So when thinking of ideas, Spring was still at the forefront of my mind, so I gave in and did another Spring design ;).

For this design, I was also reviewing some Revlon nail polish I bought recently. It's double ended; one side white nail polish (that you use as the base coat) and the other side neon green (which you apply over the white base). Instead of just painting the green straight over the white, I decided to draw a design on it instead :).

Using a small nail art brush, I created some grass, a big leaf with one of its own leaves falling off, and a swirly tree :).

The white nail polish was easy to use; the brush was smooth and it only needed two coats. The green nail polish was very similar; I imagine if you was just applying it over your whole nail it would need two coats, but for the design I only used one coat. Drying time was fast, especially the green polish, and no chipping, smudging occurred. However, I don't think this nail polish is as 'neon' as it claims to be, it seems just a bit brighter than your average green to me.

Overall this is a good item and I would definitely consider buying another one (there are tonnes to choose from, just type it in Google and they're everywhere). I know Boots sell many of them, and I'm sure most other beauty stores will too!

So thanks for reading and thanks for having me Jayna! Hope you all like this design and I'd love to know if you have used one of these before, maybe in a different colour? Oh and don't forget to check out my World Cup nail competition, you have until the 24th to enter if you haven't already :D.

Thank you so much for doing this guest post Emily! I love the design you've created and I definitely think I'll have to buy a Revlon nail art pen now! Don't forget to check out Emily's blog!
What do you think of this design?
Let me know what you think

  1. Great guest post! I don't own any Revlon polishes or nail art pens but they look quite fun :) Your design looks great, Emily - I especially love the tree with all the swirls on your thumb!
