Holiday Nails

Hi everyone,

So today I'm going to show you the nails I am wearing for my summer holiday! I leave this weekend and of course I have to have my nails painted for the occasion! As soon as we booked our holiday I knew exactly what I was going to have on my nails -  a design I'd seen over at Nailed It NZ, a blog run by the insanely talented Jessie who is also training to be a nail tech!

How amazing is her design? 

Jessie actually did a tutorial for this design which you can see here and you can also see her original post with more photos of the design here. She also re-did this design as part of the 'Trip Down Nail Art Lane Challenge' and I loved it just as much as the first one that I took inspiration from both to create my holiday nails!

Mini Watermelon Nails

Hi everyone,
So first of all sorry it's been quiet on the blog for the last few days! I recently got a summer job - which I love - and things have just got so busy! I haven't had anytime to paint my nails recently and sadly I cannot wear nail polish at work either! 
Anyway today I have a day off and decided to create some summer nails. After seeing watermelon nails on Dahlia Nails, My Mint Nails, The Naily Mail, Nail Lacquer UK, The Nailasaurus & Roaring Nails' blogs I just knew I had to do my own version - they are just so cute!

Here's my design:

I used Ciate Ferris Wheel, NYC High Line Green, Barry M Coral, Barry M Nail Art Pen in White and Barry M Nail Art Pen in Black

Born Pretty Store Rhinestone Picker review

Today I have a review of a product from the Born Pretty Store.  I decided to review the Rhinestone Picker (item code is 3975) which you can see here. It's a really useful tool, it does exactly what it says - picks up rhinestones for you!

Adding rhinestones to a nail art design is pretty hard, up until now I have been either using tweezers to place rhinestones onto my nails or just placing them on with my fingers, both ways are pretty tricky. 
This pencil is made of wax so picks up rhinestones really easily. In each pack there are two pencils, which is more than plenty!

Sinful Colors Island Coral

Hi everyone,

So a couple of weeks ago I was asked to do a swatch of Sinful Colors Island Coral. This polish is quite popular and has already been swatched so many time, but I couldn't resit swatching it - it's so nice! 

This nail polish has a great finish and is quite unique. I don't think I've come across a nail polish like this, I'd say it's a pinky coral.

Born Pretty Store Review!

Today I have a very exciting product to share with you from the Born Pretty Store.

I was contacted by them a few weeks ago and asked to do a review. For those of you who don't know, Born Pretty Store is an online store which specialises in nail art products. It also sells make-up, jewellery and accessories. 

 The product I chose to review was the 5mm Shiny Mini Metal Shell Design Stud, product number 10181. These little shell studs and are available in two colours: gold and silver. You can also choose from two sizes: 3mm and 5mm. I chose the gold 5mm studs.

In each packet you receive 20 studs, which I think is pretty good. You can use these again and again - there are so many uses for them! These studs are actually curved, which you can see in the picture above.

Mini Posts & Music Notes!

So today is the 1st March, so I thought it would be a good time to try starting a new series of posts! These posts are basically all about the nail art I do on other people (usually my little sister - hence the name mini!).

 I thought I'd start of with the most recent nail art design I've done on my little sister! She really liked my gradient music notes I did a couple of weeks ago (see here) and asked for a different version of them on her nails. I decided to use 5 different types of notes on her nails.

I used Barry M Coral, No7 Nail Art Striper in Silver and No7 Nail Art Striper in Black.

I added a shadow, but I'm not really sure if it has worked that well. The design was easy to do, but was hard to draw on her nails - they're  tiny!
