Guest Post: Grace from Addicted to Nails...

Hi everyone,
So today I have another guest blogger today: Grace from Addicted to Nails...!
Grace always creates great designs and comes up with the best colour combinations too!
Anyway, over to Grace:

Hi! I'm Grace from the little blog Addicted To Nails... Today's going to be another use of the brilliant dotting tools which readers of mine will know I am currently obsessed with them as they are so easy to use! But don't fear that it's the usual random dots across the nail, today's different seeing as inspiration struck in the form of a tutorial video here by the amazing Polishpedia.

The polishes used in this manicure are the highly popular new  Huckleberry by Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly as well as a favourite in the form of 540 Blue Eyed Girl by Rimmel 60 seconds, they were chosen as they compliment and contrast each other well. On to the base colour's application...

Huckleberry gives a brilliant result in two coats, yet when applying the first coat it doesn't look all that convincing. Solution wise the polish is really good as it's just right (not too gloopy or runny) and applies evenly across the nails in two coats - it appears slightly streaky in the first. Overall a thumbs up especially for the colour!

It kind of looks like bubbles that collect at the top of fizzy drinks!? The effect is much easier to control than a glitter gradient as you decided where the dots go. Blue Eye Girl was a brilliant nail polish to use for dotting as it didn't dry to quickly meaning ample time to apply the dots in addition to the fact it's not runny making the dots stay in place. The colour combination was perfect as they stand out from each other but not too much to overpower my short nails! Have you guys used dotting tools for other designs? - other than the obvious use. If not have a go at this design, it's nice and simple which is probably why I liked it.... :S

Thank you  so much for doing this Grace!
I love the design you've created and it has really helped me out too!

  3. Oooo this is a great dotting design! It reminds me of the bubbles on a fizzy drink too! I am definitely inspired to do something different with the dotting tool other than the usual dots like I have just done -_- xx
