Polish Party: January Blues

Hi everyone,
So a few days a go I joined a group of lovely ladies called the Polish Party! Once a month we will all post a nail art design to do with a particular theme we have chosen. This month's theme is January Blues! I wasn't sure what to do for this theme, but then I thought I'd combine two blue polishes I love - because nail polish can cheer anyone up!
Here's what I came up with:

I used No7 Stand Out, NYC Ink Stain and Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish in Your Majesty

The Lacquer Legion: Reinvention

Hi everyone,
I've decided to take part in the challenge organised by the Lacquer Legion (click here to find out more). It was created by Sarah (Chalkboard Nails), Sammy (The Nailasaurus), Rebecca (Rebecca Likes Nails) and Leslie (Work/Play/Polish).
The idea is that once a month, they will give a prompt, and on the chosen day everyone will post their interpretations of the prompt.
I personally think this is a great idea as it is a less intense way of doing a nail art challenge, which isn't continuous like the 31 Day Challenge.

This months theme is Reinvention. This was a pretty hard prompt, but I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do, here's what I came up with:

Born Pretty Store Rhinestone Picker review

*This product was provided for me to review
For more information see my disclaimer policy

Hi everyone,
Today I have a review of a product from the Born Pretty Store.  I decided to review the Rhinestone Picker (item code is 3975) which you can see here. It's a really useful tool, it does exactly what it says - picks up rhinestones for you!

Adding rhinestones to a nail art design is pretty hard, up until now I have been either using tweezers to place rhinestones onto my nails or just placing them on with my fingers, both ways are pretty tricky.
This pencil is made of wax so picks up rhinestones really easily. In each pack there are two pencils, which is more than plenty!

Delicate Flowers

Hi everyone,
So as part of my Blogging resolutions, I said I was going do more nail art on metallic bases. For this design I used my favourite metallic nail polish: Models Own Purple Pearl. It's the perfect purple and it's so shiny!

For my design, I followed this tutorial from AJ at Nail Lacquer UK. As soon as she put this tutorial up I knew that I had to try it. If you haven't heard of AJ she is a British Blogger who creates the most amazing nail art! Her freehand is so detailed and she also makes her own indie nail polishes which are available on her Esty Shop .

Here's is my design:

I used Models Own Purple Pearl, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, LA Colors Art Deco Nail Striper in White, LA Colors Art Deco Nail Striper in Black and LA Colors Art Deco Nail Striper in Teal Glitter

Freehand Butterflies

Hi everyone,
So after wearing the metallic gradient on my nails for a couple of days (read the post here) I couldn't resist adding some nail art to them! I haven't had a chance to use any of my new nail polishes from Christmas yet, so I thought this would be a great opportunity.
I decided to do some freehand nail art using my new stripers,
here's what I came up with:

I used Models Own Magenta PearlModels Own Purple Pearl and No7 Sing the Blues for the gradient.

For the Butterflies I used LA Colors Art Deco Striper in White, LA Colors Art Deco Striper in Purple/Blue Glitter and LA Colors Art Deco Striper in Rainbow Glitter.

Metallic Gradient

Hi everyone,
I've had this idea for quite a while now, but have only got just got round to doing it. I have a lot more metallic  nail polishes compared to cream polishes and only used to wear metallic nail polish when I was little. I thought it would be a good idea to combine 3 of my favourite metallic shades into a gradient manicure!

Here's what I came up with:

I used Models Own Magenta Pearl, Models Own Purple Pearl and No7 Sing the Blues.

Christmas Presents

Hi everyone,
So I'm sure this post is a few days overdue, but I still wanted to show you the nail polish I got for Christmas.

My parents had already told me that they weren't going to buy any nail polishes for Christmas (apparently I have too many, but you can never have too many nail polishes!), but they ended up buying me some in the end. I was also given a few other nail polishes too.

Tribal Pop Art (Part 3)

Hi everyone,
So those of you who read Peace, Love and Polish will probably know that Heather chose me as her Featured Blogger. (Read the post here). I was so shocked when Heather contacted me about this, it was so unexpected!

Heather asked me to create a design for her post, so I decided to do another design similar to the tribal pop art ones I have done before.

You can see my previous designs here and here.

Here is my design:

I used Rimmel Lycra Pro Aqua Cool, Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Little White Lie, Barry M Nail Art Pen in Black and Barry M Nail Art Pen in White.

New Years Eve Nails!

Hi everyone,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope that 2014 brings you all of the things you want, and lots of Nail Polish!

As a family we don't normally do anything on New Years Eve, my sister's younger so it wouldn't be fair if we all went out - she'd get too tired. Instead we watch a film as a family, stay up past midnight and watch the firework displays from our window.

However on New Years Day we go shopping. When everybody else is having a lie in (probably with a slight hangover!), we go shopping! I love doing this - usually the Shopping Centre doesn't get busy until late afternoon, so we manage to find a lot of good things in the sale!

For New Years I created some simple nails , it was my first time wearing black polish all over my nail. I decided to add glitter, because rainbow glitter looks so nice with a black base!

Here's my design:

I used Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Licorice and Technic Carnival.
