Hi everyone,
So as you all know I'm currently on a Blogging Break (read more here) so to start off the guest posts I asked the lovely Emma and Jo from Dahlia Nails to create some nail art for me.
If you haven't heard of them before, they're two best friends who create nail art. They get inspiration from anywhere and they have so many nail polishes between them! I'm especially jealous of their Models Own nail polish collection! They're also great blogging friends too!
Anyway, over to Emma and Jo:
Hi everyone! We are Emma and Jo from Dahlia Nails and we are so happy that Jayna asked us to write a guest post for her while she studies for her A-Levels as we are big fans.
We decided to show a little bit of our different personalities by picking a theme and then doing our own interpretation of it. We chose leopard print as the theme as it is something that is classic and easy for everyone to try. There are also soooo many different ways you can wear the design.
Jo went for a classic nude/brown leopard look. Starting with a nude base we then splodged on some brown spots using a dotting tool. To complete the design we used a black nail art pen to draw some ragged, incomplete circles around the spots. This was then finished off with a topcoat to tie it all together.
Emma went for a bright purple base coat for a twist on a classic. The spots were drawn on with a white nail art pen and outlined in black like in Jo's design. Again, everything was finished with a trust top coat.
We used two different top coats. Jo is trialing Glisten & Glow's HK Girl and has found it to be pretty good. It dries quickly and doesn't smudge nail art. Emma uses Seche Vite and, although it dries incredibly quickly and, again, doesn't smudge nail art, it goes gloopy once you get to the bottom half of the bottle.
We used pretty much the same technique here but the results were quite different and that is what we love about leopard print - you rarely get the exact same print twice.
Thank you Jayna for letting us guest post on your blog. Good luck with your exams!
If you'd like to read more of our stuff you can find us on the blog daily.

Love them both! I usually love bright colours, but I'd have to say that the nude one is my favourite here :)! Great work xx
ReplyDeleteI love them both too! I cannot decided which design I like better! :)
DeleteThanks for asking us to do a guest post Jayna! xx
ReplyDeleteNo problem! Thank you so much for doing it! :)
DeleteWhat a nice guest post! Love leopard prints.
ReplyDeleteIt really is, I agree! :)
DeleteI love these! I love all leopard print to be honest haha - but these really look great. I have a slight preference for the bright purple but that's just because I'm in a very purple polish mood at the moment and can't seem to get enough of that colour!
ReplyDeleteI know - Emma and Jo are great at them! I agree, it's such a nice shade of purple! :)
DeleteThey're both great! Can't decide which one I like more but maybe thesecond one-it's more unique:)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I haven't heard about their blog so thanks for that post!:)
