Mattified Spots

Hi everyone,
Today's nails for the Colour of Month challenge involve a Matte Top Coat and metallic nail polish!

For these nails I wanted to try out my matte topcoat. This design is really simple but shows off the effect of a matte topcoat really well.

I used No7 Sing the Blues and Rimmel Matte Finish Topcoat.

To create these nails I used a dotting tool and tried to get the spots to get smaller as they went down my nails.

These nails are really easy to achieve, and are good if you want to do quick nail art.

Here is the nail polish just mattified by itself:

What do you think?

  1. I like it! I tried a matte top coat for the first time on a glitter and didn't like it. This though seems to have a soft touch and just a tad of shimmer left which is nice!

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I haven't used mine much, but hopefully I will now that I've seen the effect it can make. I know what you mean about the shimmer, I think it works really well with metallic nail polish. :)

  4. Lovely!! For some reason the quality of your pics is really jumping out at me in this post... Are you using a different technique/lighting source? They're super crisp looking! :)

    1. Thank you! Haha, well I have recently changed the way I take my photos and the lighting, which is why my photos in the last few posts are a lot better quality than they were, say at the beginning of the year. So maybe it's that! :)
