31DC2014 Day 3: Yellow

Hi everyone,
So for Day 3 of the 31 Day Challenge the theme is yellow! As I mentioned in yesterday's post i'm not really a fan of yellow nail polish, I think I just find it too bright against my skin. My sister on the other hand loves yellow so I borrowed a few yellow nail polishes from her and decided to try a nail art technique I've never done before - Saran Wrap!
Here is the outcome:

Barry M Gelly Coconut, Rimmel I Heart Lasting Finish in Sunshine and Models Own Luis Lemon

This is quite a popular design and I can see why. It bring colours together in a subtle way and these were actually inspired by the triplet nails  I saw by Fundamentally Flawless, The Naily Mail and Pinkglow's Pretty Polish. I also used bubble wrap instead of cling film, making it much easier to create this design.

Here is a closer look:

Overall I'm really happy with this design. I cannot believe I haven't tried saran wrap earlier - it's such a great way to put colours together. I think the rhinestone also helps the whole design come together.

What do you think of this design?
Have you ever done saran wrap nails before?
Let me know what you think

  1. This design is brilliant, I'll have to try it out. Is it hard to do? Your yellow combination looks fab also! (I think it suits your nails.) :D

    1. Aww thank you so much! It wasn't actually that hard to create, you just have to make sure you get the balance of colours right! :)
