Polish Party: Inspired By another Party Member

Hi everyone,
So Aprils prompt for the Polish Party is Inspired by another Polish Party Member. This prompt has been on nominated a couple of times now (each month be vote for a design) and this month it won the vote. As soon as I saw this I knew I couldn't miss this prompt out, so I took a little break from revision to do some nail art! I knew exactly which member I was going to choose too: Emily from Nailsxo

Emily creates really great designs and has recently started to do tutorials too. I decided to follow her Framed/Border Nail Art tutorial (see it here).
Here's my recreation following Emily's tutorial:

I used Barry M Gelly Guava and Barry M Matt White

The Lacquer Legion: Glam

Hi everyone,
So like I said in my Blogging Break post I'd still take part in The Lacquer Legion and the Polish Party. When I saw the prompt for this months Lacquer Legion I knew I had to take part! This months Lacquer Legion theme is Glam!

As soon as I saw the theme I knew exactly what design I wanted to do.

Guest Post: Dahlia Nails

Hi everyone,
So as you all know I'm currently on a Blogging Break (read more here) so to start off the guest posts I asked the lovely Emma and Jo from Dahlia Nails to create some nail art for me.

If you haven't heard of them before, they're two best friends who create nail art. They get inspiration from anywhere and they have so many nail polishes between them! I'm especially jealous of their Models Own nail polish collection! They're also great blogging friends too!

Anyway, over to Emma and Jo:

Hi everyone! We are Emma and Jo from Dahlia Nails and we are so happy that Jayna asked us to write a guest post for her while she studies for her A-Levels as we are big fans.

We decided to show a little bit of our different personalities by picking a theme and then doing our own interpretation of it. We chose leopard print as the theme as it is something that is classic and easy for everyone to try. There are also soooo many different ways you can wear the design.

Purple Leopard Print

Hi everyone,
So first of all Happy Easter!
I'm sorry this design isn't Easter-themed, it's just something I've pulled out from the archives!
I created this design a few weeks ago, I started off with just Maybelline Color Show Iced Queen on my nails and then a few days later I added some leopard print!
Here's the design:

I used  Maybelline Color Show Iced Queen, Revlon Gold Coin, Rimmel Your Majesty and Avon Nailwear Pro+ Licorice

Mermaid Scale Nails

Hi everyone,
So after wearing Barry M Pacific (see swatches here) on my nails for a couple of days I knew I wanted to try out some nail art with it. I immediately had the idea of mermaid scales because the colour reminded me of the sea and the scale design on the nail polish bottle cap!
Here's a look at the design:

I used Barry M Pacific and Barry M Nail Art Pen in White

Blogging Break

Hi everyone,
So today's post is a little different, but I just thought I'd tell you all that over the next few months I won't be blogging as much (or at all), I'm going to be on a little blogging break.

The next few months are a really important time for me. You may or may not know but I am currently in my final year of A-levels before I go off to university. I really want to get the grades to make sure I get into my first choice.

In order to do this I am going to have to stop painting my nails (I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage this yet!) until my exams are over and therefore I cannot blog about them. I have prepared some posts already and will schedule them over the next few weeks. I will still try to take part in the The Lacquer Legion and the Polish Party Challenge.

My exams are finished in the middle of June so after that I am free to paint my nails as many times as I want and show you all the designs I come up with!

If anyone would like to do a guest post on my blog, just send me an email at:

Thank you for understanding,
Jayna

Models Own Roman Candle Swatch

*This nail polish was a competition prize
Hi everyone,
So today I thought I'd show you another swatch from Models Own's Fireworks collection.
Instead of showing you this collection over black like the majority of the swatches I have seen, I've decided to use a different base colour to show the versatility of the collection.
Today's nail polish is Models Own Roman Candle.

Rocket is available from the Models Own Website, Boots and Superdrug for £5.00

Simple Gradient

Hi everyone,
So today's design is something I've been wanting to do for such a long time, but have only just got round to trying out. I really like the look of gradients with a layer of glitter on top, so I decided to have a go at doing one myself.
Here's what I came up with:

I used Max Factor Mini Cool Jade, Maybelline Color Show Urban Turquoise, Fingr's Heart 2 Art The Boys in Blue and Technic Treasure Chest (Gold glitter)

Barry M Pacific Swatch

*This nail polish was purchased by me
Hi everyone,
So after passing my driving text a few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to some new nail polishes! I bought No7 Galaxy (see swatches here) and Barry M Pacific, which I am going to show you today.
Pacific is part of the new Barry M Aquarium Collection. It consists of 4 duochromes (Mediterranean, Caspian, Arabian and Pacific) and 2 glitter toppers (Treasure Chest and Mermaid).
Each nail polish comes in a bottle with a gold cap which has scales printed on! I think this is a really nice touch from Barry M and they have also written the name of the collection on the cap too! I hope they do something similar to this with other collections!

This nail polish is available from the Barry M website, Boots and Superdrug for £3.99.
