Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a good Christmas and got lots of nail polish!
Anyway, it's New Years Eve! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone!
The year has been a big year for my blog, I never thought that my blog would come this far or that my nail art would improve as much as this!

Follower - wise, my blog has:

194 Tumblr Followers
89 Members
65 Bloglovin' followers

The best thing about all of this is that my nail art has improved. I think the best way to show this is from this design:

Christmas Skittle

Hi everyone,
It's 2 day's 'till Christmas! I'm so excited!
Anyway, today I'm going to show you the nails I will be wearing for Christmas day. I have so many different designs in mind, but in the end I decided to do a skittle mani - that way I can combine lots of different ideas! This is my first skittle mani, and I have to say I really like the idea of it!
Here's my design:

On my thumb I did a Christmas tree.
As you can probably tell, I used lots of different nail polishes to create this.

Models Own Peacock Green

*This nail polish was purchased by me

Hi everyone,
For the last of the Christmas swatches I have decided to show you my favourite festive nail polish: Models Own Peacock Green.

This colour is perfect for Christmas trees or general nail art.

It is the perfect metallic green and shines differently in various lighting.

GFC

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Google have decided to get rid of the GFC widget, so I'm guessing this means the end of GFC. I think this is because they want people to use Google + instead of GFC.

Don't worry, you can still follow me on:

Just follow these links or click on the icons on the right hand side of my blog.

I will do my best to follow all of you on other platforms.I have already imported all of the blogs I follow to Bloglovin' so I will still be able to read all of your posts.

Christmas Pudding Nails

Hi everyone,
Today I thought I'd show you some Christmas nails I created as it's only 9 until Christmas! I'm so excited!

I wasn't really sure about this design at first, because I wasn't sure if the brown nail polish  would look nice with my skin , however I'm pretty happy with the results.
Here's my design:

I used an unamed brown nail polish, NYC High Line Green and Barry M Matt White. The little red star studs are from a NPW Nail Art Wheel.

Christmas Swatch: 17 Chateau

*This nail polish was purchase by me
Hi everyone,
As part of the Christmas swatches I've decided to show you one of the oldest nail polishes in my collection: 17 Chateau

I really love this colour, and always wear it around Christmas time. As you can see this nail polish is great for Christmas because it's red!

I'd say this nail polish is a cherry red, which has subtle gold flecks.

Snowman Nails!

Hi everyone,
I've been wanting to change my banner for a while now but was never satisfied with the designs I came up with, but I finally managed to find a design I liked. What do you think? - Or do you prefer my old banner?

Anyway, today I thought I'd show you some more Christmas Nails. The nearer it gets to Christmas, the more excited I get!
I decided to create some snowman nails, here's what I came up with:

I used Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Little White LieNo7 Striper in BlackNo7 Striper in SilverNails Inc Atomic and Barry M Nail Art Pen in Black.

I also used an unknown polish, which had little tiny silver glitter particles, which I used to create a glitter background.

Princess Jasmine Nails

Hi everyone,
Yesterday was my best friends 18th Birthday Party, so being the grown - up girls we are (not really) we had a Disney Princess Party. We all had to dress up as different Disney Princesses and I chose Princess Jasmine. Obviously I had to match my nails to my outfit, here's my design:

I used Barry M Blueberry and Models Own Nail Art Pen in Gold.
The rhinstone is from a NPW Nail Art Wheel.

Sinful Colors Island Coral

*This nail polish was purchased by me
Hi everyone,
So a couple of weeks ago I was asked to do a swatch of Sinful Colors Island Coral. This polish is quite popular and has already been swatched so many time, but I couldn't resit swatching it - it's so nice!

This nail polish has a great finish and is quite unique. I don't think I've come across a nail polish like this, I'd say it's a pinky coral.

Christmas Swatch: Revlon Gold Coin

*This nail polish was purchase by me
Hi everyone,
As it's December, I've decided to show you a nail polish which I think would be perfect to wear around Christmas!
My first swatch is Revlon Gold Coin.

I think this nail polish is great for Christmas because it's gold! There are so many things which are gold at Christmas: bells, tinsel, baubles, stars etc.

I think this nail polish is quite unique. I have never seen a gold nail polish like this before and is a great metallic colour. It has a great finish and looks great with any skin tone.

Avon Opal Top Coat Swatches

*This product was purchased by me
Hi everyone,
It's December! Which means Christmas is on its way!
I am so excited for Christmas, so to get into the Christmas spirit I decided to show you some swatches of Avon's Opal top coat. I have had the polish for a while now, and as soon as I applied it over metallic nail polish I knew it would be perfect for Christmas.

This polish is an iridescent flake polish, which shines different colours in light. I think It's a very versatile topcoat, which would look great with any colour.

Here is my first swatch:

For my base colour I used Models Own Peacock Green.

Born Pretty Store Review!

*This product was provided for me to review
For more information see my disclaimer policy

Hi everyone,
Today I have a very exciting product to share with you from the Born Pretty Store.
I was contacted by them a few weeks ago and asked to do a review. For those of you who don't know, Born Pretty Store is an online store which specialises in nail art products. It also sells make-up, jewellery and accessories.

The product I chose to review was the 5mm Shiny Mini Metal Shell Design Stud, product number 10181. These little shell studs and are available in two colours: gold and silver. You can also choose from two sizes: 3mm and 5mm. I chose the gold 5mm studs.

In each packet you receive 20 studs, which I think is pretty good. You can use these again and again - there are so many uses for them! These studs are actually curved, which you can see in the picture above.

Sinful Colors Amethyst

*This polish was purchased by me
Hi everyone,
After showing you some of the nail polishes I picked up over the last few months ( you can see my haul post here) I was asked to do a swatch of the Sinful Colors polishes I bought. Today I thought I'd show you Sinful Colors Amethyst.

I have to admit one of the only reasons why I bought this nail polish was because of its name Amethyst. Amethyst is my birthstone, so as soon as I saw the name, I knew I had to have it! I also bought it because I have a weakness for purple polishes (but you probably know that already!).

This polish has a lovely cream, glossy finish. I'd say this purple really stands out, either by itself or with nail art.

Tribal Pop Art (Part 2)

No7 Damson Dream Swatch

*This nail polish was purchase by me
Hi everyone,
Today I thought I'd show you a swatch of one of my favourite metallic polishes: No7 Damson Dream.

I first tried this colour when I found it in my mums collection. As soon as I saw it I knew, I was going to love it - I love any polish which is purple!

This nail polish has a metallic finish, and gives you the illusion of longer nails!
I'm not really sure how to describe this nail polish, it kind of reminds me of jewels, but at the same time reminds me of berries. It has a slight gold shimmer, which can be seen in different light.

Red Leopard Print

Hi everyone,
You may or may not have noticed, but over the weekend I created an instagram for my blog!
You can view the page here. Please follow it, if you want! :)

Anyway, onto the nails!
Today's design is inspired by fashion. In the majority of the magazines I have been reading I have seen a lot of leopard print clothes. In one magazine I saw a really nice metallic red leopard print top, as soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a nice design for my nails.
Here it is:

I used No7 Salsa, Revlon Gold Coin and Models Own Nail Art Pen in Black

Slime Nails Tutorial

Hi everyone,
Happy Halloween!
To I thought I'd show you how I created the nails I showed you earlier today for Halloween. I think these nails are a really simple way to get into the Halloween spirit and are really versatile - instead of green nail polish, you could use red to make it look like blood is dripping down your nails!
You can see the original post here.

Halloween Nails!

Hi everyone,
Happy Halloween!
So for halloween this year I decided to try and do drippy nails which look like slime.
Here's my design:

Tribal Pop Art Tutorial

Hi everyone,
So today I'm going to show you a tutorial which was requested by Stef from Fairly Charming , Jasmine from The Happy Sloths and Ela from Pretty Little Nails. Stef also came up with a name for this design: "Tribal Pop Art". I love this name - I agree with Stef it definitely sums up this design.

These nails were a big goalpost for me, as this design was my first design to get the official Tumblr "nail art" tag. You can see the original post here.

Rose Nails Tutorial

Hi everyone,
For my first tutorial I am going to show you how to create Rose Nails. (Read the post here).
These nails were really easy to do and I didn't use any specific nail art tools, so these are a great design to try out if you do not own any nail art tools.

Polka Dots

Hi everyone,
As you know I love purple nail polishes, so when I saw swatches of MUA Frozen Yoghurt on various blogs I knew I had to have it! Sadly they stopped selling MUA at my local Superdrug, so I wasn't able to buy it. I am currently trying not to buy any new polishes, so I thought it was a good thing they stopped selling it. But last week I walked into my local Superdrug and the MUA stand appeared again! I decided I couldn't wait any longer and bought the nail polish!

As soon as I saw this nail polish I knew exactly what design I wanted to do, here is is:

I used MUA Frozen Yoghurt and Barry M Matt White.

Tutorials!

Hi everyone,
So on the 5th November my blog will be 1 years old!

To celebrate this I have decided to do a full week of tutorials leading up to my blogaversary.
It will start on the 29th October, and continue until the 5th November.

I have already planned 2/7 of the tutorials that I am going to post, however I would like YOU to choose the other 5 from all of the nail art I have done over the year. You can do this by leaving a comment below, and the most popular 5 will be made into tutorials and posted during that week.

I think the easiest way for you to view all of my posts is on tumblr:

I have also made a collage of all my posts and numbered them to make it easier for everyone to see:

Elegant Half Moons

Hi everyone,
So today I thought I'd try half moon nails. I've been wanting to try these for a while now and when my two new sinful colors polishes arrived (Island Coral and Amethyst) I immediately knew Amethyst would look great with gold.

I think that half moons, just like french manicures look really elegant. They are both such simple designs, but the outcomes are really amazing.

Here is my design:

I used Revlon Gold Coin and Sinful Colors Amethyst

This design was actually a lot easier to do than I thought and I really like the outcome.

Do you like this design?
Let me know what you think.

This nail polish was really easy to apply and gave a shiny finish.
